PEG V 200.02
After liberalisation of the german railway market there have grown many small railway operators all over Germany, some are specialzed in personell and urban transport, some are only in freight services or maintaining the railways, and some do all.
Few of them use old diesel locos made in the former USSR - most of them come actualy from Poland and Czechia - that were delivered from the end sixties to end seventies and have been in service for the DR /DB (former state railway of germany) to the beginning of the nineties. In the former GDR (DR) they called them Taigatrommel because of the very noisy sound of the first models, that had no muffler.
The PEG is the largest of this new companys in Brandeburg now, theire diesel engines use vegetable oil for all of their loco and railcars.
This is a very nice model from Gützold, located in the former GDR. The model goes very smooth and has a lot of traction power. So it is good for both: switching and it is pulling long trains (more than 20 freight wagons).
